You don't need to download the RTE, the RTE should be built into the forum.

You might want to re-upload the files because one might have gotten corrupted.

Also what is the exact error with refernces to line numbers etc....

EDIT:
What version of Internet Explorer are you using? If it is version 7 I dont think it is fully supported at the moment. (not sure on that though). Try Firefox.

probably a corrupt file. Try re-uploading all forum files

well i could unzip the files and then send them 1 by one but that will take ages lol, did u have a look at the site to see what you think is going on? the only thing i can think of is that the server the files are on has something missing to allow this to function correctly.

The RTE will not work on a free web host as they inject ads into the page which prevent the javascript from running.

Hello I downloaded and installed the RTE editor.

I can see the control but it does not work.

Is there a simple answer.  I have added the code and changed the variables.

The drop downs for font and size do not drop down.

Should all the files be in the web folder or should there be a RTE folder and all the files below that?

Thanks

Ye the files should be in the same folder.

Sounds like your most of the way there as the toolbar is appearing, but not being initialised correctly.

The course of this is often your pre-esisiting form is not setup correctly. Make sure that your form tag and text area tag both not only have name properties but also id properties:-

name="myform" id="myform"

Also make sure that you intinlise the RTE in the body tag of your page:-

<body onLoad="initialiseWebWizRTE();">

If you still have problems try using Firefox as it has a great built in Error Console in the Tools menu which lists any page errors which should help workout what the problem is.

I have the name and id tags for both the form and textarea.

body onload is set.

I used firefox and the errors are css type.

Is there a special error I should be looking for?

Also the toolbar is at the top of the page.

Is there a way to get the toolbar to appear above the textarea?

Thanks
