I have Admin priviledges and I try to change a user's group from Admin to another group (i.e. remove him from Admin), but the group change select box does not appear at all on his profile? It works for all other users?

Are all users who have Admin status equal as far as their priviledges? Is there a "super" Admin status?

HELP PLEASE!!!!

Adam

If he has the default admin account then you can not change it.

The default account is the first member in the database... and you can not change it as its hard coded into the forum.

OK I understand.

Can I change this user's name? Can I delete him?

I can access the database and change it manually. Would that screw thing up a lot?

You can change the username.

You can NOT delete the main admin account is HARD CODED into the code. If you delete the main admin account your forum will not function correctly. Same goes for the "Guest" username (second record in the members table).

OK OK I understand believe me.

My question is this: If this account's name is Bob and I wish to change it to John - is that possible? What happens if I do it manually in the database?

You can change the username in the database. But you have to change the password through the profile section of the board.

Or you can copy the Password and Salt field from a fresh database and put it into your current database to reset the password to "letmein".

OK thanks a lot. Password not a problem, does not requre a change.

Now another question if I may.

How do I move all the post done by a user to another user? (i.e all Bob's posts to John)?

You will have to go through the database and replace the Author_ID in all the tables from the old users author id to the new users author id.
