I have a need to identify who is using our site and blocking people who are banned. While this can be done to a degree with user account blocking and IP/Subnet blocking, the number of public proxy hosts out there make this taks nigh on impossible. How about a proxy filter list (similar to web blocking software)? |

MaxMind GeoIP can be used to ban IP address used by anonymous proxies, but it is not free. They give you a database with millions of IP's listed in it, which you need to subscribe to so you have the latest database each month.
