My client does not mind having the Google Ads displayed on their forum. However they are worried about the types of ads being displayed. Is there anyway to manipulate what types of ads are displayed? Thanks!

Mergeverts,

Google Ads show adverts depending on what the content of the text around them is.  If you're forum is about computers, then 99% of the adverts will be about computers.

However, you'll notice that if Google hasn't spidered a topic yet, you may receive ads which don't necessarily match what the topic is about.  However, Google doesn't allow offensive ads etc to be shown.

Thanks! Our client mentioned that he saw an ad that he labeled as "soft porn".  He is aware enough to know that Google will take some time to crawl the site and the ads will most likely change after a period of time. I just wanted to know if there was anything I could do to speed up the process and/or force the types of ads that are shown.

Google never have soft porn ads.

If he saw a porn ad in place of a Google ad then he more likely has a virus on his computer.

There are a number of viruses that convert Google Ads into porn and gambling ads. When a user with this virus visits a site that has Google Ads they see these rather dodgy ads in there place.
