Iv'e just installed webwiz rich text box and inserted the onload into the <body> tag and the code above the textarea tag., however I get an error:

Microsoft VBScript compilation  error '800a03ea'
Syntax error

/clientprogram/functions/RTE_functions_common.asp, line 40

Private Function RTEenabled()

The default.asp that came in the package works fine,  so I'm assuming its nothing to do with my browser.

Any clues?

Has this been asked and answered before, maybe?

Help please.
Thanks,
Bob

Could be a corrupted file first thing to do is try reuploading the files again as there is no reason why you would get an error on a line that is simply the start of a function.

Hi.

I just had the excact same problem, when trying to install the Web Wiz Rich Text Editor.

The problem lies in the ASP server version that your host provider runs. In my case ChiliASP. Certains names can't be used in Function calls - in this case "Private".

I removed the word Private all the way down functions/RTE_functions_common.asp, and wupti, it worked Smile

I'm not sure that is the solution for you, but try it anyway - it just might work.

BTW: Damn nice editor Smile
