Em, you haven't given much to go on.

Why does it not work?
Do you get an error message?
Have you followed the installation documents that come with the forum?
Does your web space support ASP?
Are you running the forum through an ASP enabled web server?

I get this in the error message:

The page cannot be found,

HTTP 404 - File not found
Internet Information Services

I followed the documentation as it tells me, but I get this message.

Yes the web space does run a asp enabled web server.

Make sure you have uploaded all the files correctly and that you are typing the correct path into your browser.

Also turn off friendly HTTP error messages in IE.

My bet is, that you have problems with the CDATE... Have you changed it in the Common.asp, so that it supports you country.

Look for the Session.LCID = 1033 line and uncomment the line.

Reason, I got the exact same error, and when i turned off "friendly HTTP error messages" in IE off, the problem was the CDATE.... I just entered the right Session.LCID for my country, and the forum worked.

I had a look at your site and the error I got for the forum suggests that you have left out the " when editing the path and db name:-

eg:-

strDatabase = "jhkjhkjh/jhgjhg.mdb"

Hey.. It seems as you are linking directly to your database file... You should insted link til http://www.yoursite.com/forum/default.asp - www.yoursite.com/forum/default.asp .. Or whereever you put your forum.

Another problem might be, that your server or webspace doesn't support ASP (Active Server Pages). Please check, if your server or webspace supports it. You might even wanna check if the server has support for Access Databases..

Question: Shouldn't this work just on my computer lone? For the beggening part of it, like if I'm testing and trying to put it together.

ASP stands for Active Server Pages, no web server no active pages.

So unless you are running Microsoft IIS, ASP enabled web server on your own computer then no, it won't run on your own computer.

This is why your browser is trying to download the pages, without an ASP enabled web server the page is not processed and therefore your browser will see it as a file and try to download it.

After looking at your site I found two problems,

1 As mentioned above your link to the forums links directly to the database.

2 When going to the correct forum url http://1stid.recongamer.com/forum/ - http://1stid.recongamer.com/forum/  it gives an error suggesting that the path to your database is incorrect.
