It's definitely included in the Business Edition but from what I've read it should be included in the Home Editions as well.

Thanks.. I'm planning to purchase a new laptop so wanted to see whether other editions beisde Vista Ultimate support IIS...

I also wonder whether Vista Ultimate consumes a lot of resources on a  machine compared to other editions of Windows Vista...

MD, are you running the 32-bit or 64-bit?

Only Business, Enterprise and Ultimate have IIS. None of the Home editions do. And make sure you read up on IIS 7 It's a different kind of animal.

Thanks for that link Michael.

I'm thinking of buying the 64-bit Vista Ultimate but I'm a little hesitated that so many softwares/drivers aren't compatible with the 64-bit version yet.

Well, check the Hardware you have and go online to see if 64bit drivers are available before buying... I am not sure if the Vista Hardware Compability checker can verify 64bit compliance...

I did when I had the BETA version of Vista Ultimate 64-bit. Most hardware components I had did not have any 64-bit driver for them on the vendor's website... I can't live without my SoundCard.

After doing some research, it looks like Windows Vista Home Premium edition supports IIS: http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer/en/library/86026b03-18b0-4c42-9884-5af83226e2bd1033.mspx - http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer/en/library/86026b03-18b0-4c42-9884-5af83226e2bd1033.mspx

cool. Home Premium is pretty much enough anyway as long as you don't want to connect to a Domain and don't need the oh so useful Ultimate additions (pun)

Is that "Remote Desktop"? Joining a domain through Active Directory? or...?

Joining an Active Directory Domain. You can only do that with Business and up.
