Could someone give me an idea as to what is going on?

I have 2 separate forums running (8.04) and everything was fine. Now when I come into the office on Monday, both sites are down with the following message:

Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occured while connecting to the database.
Please contact the forum administrator.

Support Error Code:- err_Access_db_connection
File Name:- common.asp

Error details:-
Microsoft JET Database Engine
Unspecified error

I copied one of the DBs to my desktop and did a repair in MS Access and re-upped it. This did not correct.

My suspicion is that the DBs are fine and there is something else going on here. How could both DBs get corrupt at the same time.

Any suggestions would be most helpfull...thanks!

Ok...so, just out of curiousity I setup a brand new forum and am getting the same error message.

Obviously, something on the server is not right and nothing wrong with WWF.

Anyone have any ideas what config in IIS might not be right?

Thanks in advance...

It sounds like the Application Pool running your sites has stored a corrupted JET database driver in memory (JET database driver is used for connections to Access).

To fix the issue your web host needs to either recycle the application pool or reboot the server.

If it keeps happening it could be a sign of other issues on the server, so your web host should keep an eye on the situation.

Thanks for the speedy reply...the server reboot resolved the problem.

Other than ensuring that I am running the latest MS Jet Engine, what else should I be looking for in terms of server and IIS?

Thanks!
