Hi,
As a recent new user of the forum I have been integrating it into my customer's web site over the last couple of days using the provided functions_member_API.asp method.

All was well but I started to notice an error occurring. the details of the error are:

Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occured while writing to the database.
Please contact the forum administrator.
Support Error Code:- err_Access_existingMemberAPI()_update_pass
File Name:- functions_member_API.asp
Error details:-
ADODB.Recordset
Item cannot be found in the collection corresponding to the requested name or ordinal.

This occurred originally on my in-house development server after I linked to the database (successfully), logged out from the forum and then tried to link into it again. Curiously, if I refreshed the window it worked OK.

Following that, I uploaded everything to the live server and now that error appears everytime I try to link to the forum.

Looking at your code in the function, it seems to occur at the point where the User_code, password and e-mail address are updated. I've not tried to track this down any further as yet but one curiousity is that the code is trying to fill the field called 'Email' whereas in the database in the Authors table the field is called Author_email. This discrepancy would seem to fit with the error message.

Look forward to your response.

Ian

Yes the field should be 'Author_email' not 'Email'

Hi boRg,

So I should just edit the function myself to correct it - is that OK?
