Hello Smile

I have found 2 bugs in WebWiz Forum 8.05a (msSQL).

Every day at 5 pm (17:00) Danish time -/+ 1 hour there are big problems to load Google advertise, so the Forum is very long time to be loaded on people's Web-browser.
We have WebWiz Guestbook 8.20 to, but there is no problems to load Google advertise at this time.
Cut that Google advertise problems on Forum be fixed?

If people try to Register user name with character like [ ] and then push the buttom Register below at the page, the next page you will get is "page can not be show" like if you try to get a site there don't exist.
Cut that be fixed to show at site with "Not allowed character in user name"?

NB.
Sorry for my very bad English Embarrassed

The problem with the ads is not something that happens everyday, we had a switch go down today at around 5pm that the syndication ad server uses, which regrettably took an hour to rectify. We are investigating and taking steps to ensure that it doesn't happen again.

The characters [ and ] are allowed in usersnames and should not course issues when they are used.

The error that your site gave was a database error which suggests some issue with the way the database is setup, it could be a problem connected to different language or locale settings on the server.

Will look into placing the character [ and ] onto a banned list for future releases to prevent this type of error.

Hello Smile

To day (26 april 2007) there was problems again with ADS on our Forum from about 10 pm to 12 pm (22:00 to 00:00) (Danish time) so our Forum working very slowly Cry

At same time the WebWiz web-site  http://www.webwiz.net - www.webwiz.net  was down.

At same time there was NO problems with ADS on our guestbook (webwiz guestbook v8.20).

Can WebWiz make ADS on WebWiz-Forum v8.05a to work at same way it do on WebWiz-guestbook v8.20?
In that way users of WebWiz-Forum v8.05a will allways have a fast working Forum Wink

NB.
Sorry for my bad English Embarrassed

All server logs have been checked and the servers were continuing to serve ads and pages during the times you mention.

The only thing this can be put down to is a problem between your site and our servers here, maybe a DNS issue at your end.

The Web Wiz Guestbook, which is has not been available for quite sometime, only shows Google Ads, Web Wiz Forums shows both Google Ads and Ads from our own network, and has to connect to our servers not only to show ads from our network but also to comply with Google's Policy they have placed on us.

If you are unhappy with the way the ads are shown then you can always purchase a license key which will remove the ads, you can then use the built in Google Ads file to place your own Google Ads on the forum.

Hello Smile

Thanks for your reply Thumbs%20Up

It's funny you write there maybe have been a DNS problem at my end, but i don't think so, i was looking at other site to at this time, so the problem must be something els Wink

About buy a license key, maybe i will, but first i will see the program works without any problems incl. the ADS Wink

If it happen again, i will make a "tracert" take a screenshot (SS) of it and put the image in here. I just have make a "tracert" and take a SS of it so i know the normaly way to your server Wink

Some of the servers were taken off-line yesterday for a 25 minute period at 5.15PM (UK time) whilst they were moved to our new suite at the data centre so that they can connect via a different switch to prevent some intermittent issues that we have been having over the past week.

Hello Smile

I do like i write in my post 27 Apr 2007 at 3:32pm (take SS of tracert when the problem is show up)

27 Apr 2007 we have problems from 6:00 pm to 6:40 pm (Danish time) and i tracert your server in all 40 mins.

I have tracert your server 27 Apr 2007 about 2:30 pm (Danish time) when there was connect and take SS of it, it was the first SS. I posted 3 more SS from that 40 mins there was problems so you cut see wher the problems was. therefore i hope you take a copy of them before you deleted my post so you can take care of it.

I don't understand why you deleted my post with the SS in, everybody can tracert a server, so there is notthing secret in that, but never mind Wink

We are aware of two outages on Friday, one at around 1pm and the other at 3pm, both of these were coursed by a problem in the switch, which is why the decision was made to move the servers, which was done at 5.15pm on the same day which did mean an additional outage of around 25 minutes at this time.

These times are an hour behind your time zone, so the times of the outages do match up with the times that you have reported.

We are continuing to monitor the situation, but strongly beleive that the issue is now resolved.
