Does anybody here have any experience with the above?

I have a lage application with MP3 files stored in a database.

When users wish to hear the MP3s they are downloaded to user's browser and can be played locally, but ONLY after download, which takes some time.

Is there any way to stream these MP3s so they can start playing immediately?

Thanks in advance!

Any particular reason for storing files in the database? Confused

The only way to actually stream something is to use a streaming server such as Windows Media Server, Shoutcast or Icecast.

However this isn't really necessary. Instead search google for flash mp3 players. These allow the file to start playing before it has fully downloaded :)
