v7.1

I've noticed that in my active users list, sometimes there is a Anonymous user listed.

How is this happening?

The user deselected "Add me to Active Users list" checkbox when they logged in.

Hope this helps

Replace the check box on the login user page with a hidden field that is set to true.

Turn the HTML check box form element into a hidden form element of the smame name and set it's value to true.

Ok.. I am assuming I am going to change this part:

Response.Cookies("Forum")("UID") = strUserCode
   If CBool(Request.Form("ActiveUsers")) = False Then
    Response.Cookies("Forum")("Hide") = True
   Else
    Response.Cookies("Forum")("Hide") = False
   End If

If that's what I am supposed to change.. could you show me how to change it please..    (oh.. if it's not what I am supposed to change.. could you tell me what I AM suppose to?!)  thanks!!

No, please read my last post and simply change the text box found in the HTML form on the login page into a hidden field with the same name and set it's value to true.

You then don't need to change any ASP code at all.

Please Read Last Post From -boRg- it explains exactly what you need to do! and refer to the post before that one

There are tons of books out there to buy and learn simple HTML not trying to be mean or anything just think that there are a lot of people coming here that dont even have an HTML editor!

Your Question is answered perfectly I suggest Investing in some HTML 101

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question.  Your absolutly correct about people coming here without a clue.. I happen to be one of them.  but I figured why not ask those who know?!  because most people here don't mind helping.

I am new at this, never claimed to know what the heck I am doing.  but at least I am trying!  I have come a long way seeing that just 2 1/2 months ago, I had never heard of ASP or worked with HTML.  If it wasnt' for HELPFUL people of this board, I wouldn't have been able to do anything.

sorry that you wasted your time posting to me!

I havent wasted my Time I only suggested that you need to buy an HTML book that will teach you the fundementals of HTML instead of relying on someone to do it for you! If you did a search you would find many sites that do tutorials for free on the web!~ Yes I have some knowledge and I do share it here and many other places as well its just that you are not asking for help, now you are asking for someone to do it for you! Thats not how you learn!

Well everything I have done so far has been by trial and error.. or by asking.. haven't needed any "HTML fundementals" yet!

I am not looking to be a programmer here.  I am only trying to do the basics.  I am a stay at home mother of 3 kids that homeschools on top of it all.. I don't have time to study HTML, nor do I have the desire to do so.

Forums are meant to be for help.  My forum is for help and support for people trying to lose weight.  If someone came in and asked for advice and I told them to go buy a book and study about it.. well.. how much help would our forum be to people then?

and ya know what.. this is such an insignificant thing I am trying to do.. I just thought it would be a simple question with a simple answer, not a debate as to whether or not I should find my answers elsewhere.  now I fear we are wasteing each others time.

Go to login_user.asp and find the part in the HTML that reads:-

<input type="checkbox" name="ActiveUsers" value="True" checked />

and change to:-

<input type="hidden" name="ActiveUsers" value="True" />
