Hi Borg I am sorry to post a message that has been posted already but I am getting confused. I do not know much ASP but I get by with what I know and am learning more every day. I have been able to sort out the most of the forum but I would like to view the latest topics on the default.asp page. Every one I try either dosen't work or only displays when I am the administrator Can anyone help me as I am lost Pure P10 |

I have used this one but only the Administrator can see the latest post how do I fix this?

Only the admin?
Are guests able to view the posts normally? The above mod will only show posts in the list which the viewer has permission to see, so if all your posts are in forums which guests (or other users) are not allowed to view, they will not appear in the list. So how do I set it up so people have permissions to view posts and what are Sticky Topics:?

Now this is weird.
I have the mod in place and can see all the latest posts (as admin). If I log out (to guest) the list is blank, even though guests are permitted to see almost all the posts in the forum. If I log on as a regular user, the list is indeed blank (doesn't even contain posts I made as that user!). If I log in as a member of a private group that has access to a private area, I can see the list again - but, the first visible ("latest") post is a post made by that member in the private area - ignoring a more recent post made by a regular user in the public area!! Methinks the replacement default.asp page isn't quite perfect...

I've found what the problem is. The just looks at the group permissions, if those aren't found he doesn't fall back on the general settings of the forum but skips it. I'll probably post a fixed version sometime later this evening. A workaround is defining read permissions for each group/forum combination |

Sorry mate I am a pain I know but when logged as guest with no view permissions is there ment to be something in the latest topic area which say something like: "There have been no Forum Posts" or "you must be registered to view latest posts"? Can you please let me know Thanks Pure P10 |
