Forgive me if this inquiry doesn't belong here.  However, I am being attacked in a different way.  It seems that new users are using profane names to register under and leaving them stand as the last new user.
Is there a way that I can disable the show new user function so that this is no longer a problem.

This is just a great.  I have a problem and no one has answered it?  The last time I posted with a problem it was taken care of quickly.  This time my problem is urgent.  THE PROBLEM:  I have spammers that are loggin on and using phony information such as fake emails to sign up and register on my forum.  I never accept their registrations but for the time they are in my forum during registration their names appear in the new member area at the bottom of the forum.  Is there a MOD that I can perform to stop showing these names.  Most of them are cursewords.  Your quick response is desperately needed.  Thank you to anyone who responds!

Are looking into this to improve name detection for version 9 and also run it through the bad word filter to prevent this type of things.

For the moment the only solution is delete the following lines from default.asp:-

Response.Write("<br />" & strTxtWeHave & " " & FormatNumber(lngNoOfMembers, 0) & " " & strTxtForumMembers & _
"<br />" & strTxtTheNewestForumMember & " <a href=""member_profile.asp?PF=" & saryMemebrStats(1,0) & strQsSID2 & """>" & saryMemebrStats(0, 0) & "</a>")

I have just checked through the code as I thought it odd that usernames are not run through the bad word filter and it seems that it is already done.

Check the configuration of your bad word filter in the admin area and make sure that it contains the bad words that this spammer is using when they create usernames in your forum.

Yes the bad word filter does work on the newest member post.  However, the spammer is comming up with clever ways to say the same thing.

Underlines and dashes and run-on letters pretty much say the same thing and there are hundreds if not thousands of combinations.  I will try and use the code you gave me and find out what it does.  Thanks for your prompt reply I am happy again.
