I have tried upgrad from 8.05 to 8.05a by simply uploading the new version and adding my exisitingdatabase but i am getting this error

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a0009'

Subscript out of range

/web/webforum/functions/functions_common.asp, line 1475

I'm probably just being stupid or something but it is a little frustrating. Any help would be great. Thanks.

There is only 1 file change between 8.05 and 8.05a so very odd you get this error.

It looks like the error is coursed by a problem in the active users array stored in the web servers memory.

The error will clear when the web servers app pool recycles but if you can not wait that long, open the file includes/setup_options.asp in notepad and change the application variable prefix.

Have set a target date for 6 to 12 weeks for version 9, as the problem with software development is it takes along time to do well and bug free and you never know what issues you may come across.

At the moment putting in 12 to 15 hour days to try a meet or even beat this target, as it is a massive project as will also be launching new versions of all the software at the same time along with a completely new site with searchable knowledgebase.

Hope to have a demo version available in the next few weeks so users can test the new Web 2.0 AJAX frontend features which will hopefully give a cleaner look and make the forum more user friendly.

Hey Borg,

Will it be easy to migrate from 8.05, or will we have to implement our mods again for 9.0?

Thanks!

3rd party mods are used at your own risk, please read the announcement at the top of the mods forums.

We are looking at building a new slicker online install and update tool, but any mods you have will need to be reapplied if they are compatible with version 9.

So far there have been over 130 changes logged in the version 9 version history file.
