I've just installed the Forums and have everything working properly except the RSS feed.  Aside from turning RSS 'on' in the admin area, is there anything I need to configure to get RSS to work?  I'm new to RSS, so I'm probably just overlooking something basic.  Is anything special required on the server itself to support it?

Thanks in advance.

An RSS Feed is simply an XML file. You need to have an RSS Reader to turn the feed into a readable form.

There is lots of software that would do this including IE 7, Firefox's live bookmarks, Thunderbird, and even Vista Sidebar has support for RSS Feeds.

Thanks for the reply.  I'm trying to read it using either IE7 or MS Outlook's built-in reader.  To verify I am using the reader correctly I tested it with other sites, like CNN.com without problem.  When I try it on my forum I get the header information, my logo, etc but no actual forum postings.

I take it there is nothing to configure- just toggle it on and off?

Are there any public posts in your forum.

Because of the way RSS Feeds work it will only display posts which are open to the public.

Another problem that sometimes occurs is that posts that are pasted from Word often contain proprietary MS Word properties which can break RSS Feeds, unless you use the 'Paste From Word' Tool found in the post editor.

That probably explains it.  The forums are not public.  I hadn't considered that but it makes complete sense.  I have a few ideas on how to deal with it, now that I know that is the problem.

Thanks for the help.  This is a great product.
