I am running Vista Home Premium. I want to install MS SQL Server on it but I am confused about what version of it to be installed. I read following links on microsoft website but I am still not getting it how to do.

http://www.microsoft.com/sql/howtobuy/sqlonvista.mspx - http://www.microsoft.com/sql/howtobuy/sqlonvista.mspx

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/bb426877.aspx - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/bb426877.aspx

Can anyone please help me in detail. Thanks

Not sure what you are trying to accomplish but I am running SQL Server 2005 Express SP2 on one and SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition on another... All the other version are Production Versions which would make no sense for you anyway as they are to expensive. Developer has all capabilities of Enterprise...

Only the Express and Developer version will run on Vista the other versions require that you are running a full version of Windows Server 2000 or 2003.

Considering the Enterprise edition costs over $20,000, there is no way anyone buying a license for it at that price would run it on a home/workstation OS like Vista, you would be running using it on Windows 2003 Server Enterprise to take full advantage of all that money you spent.
