i activated uploads and now avatar uploading is working. Problems are :

1. While posting a new message where is UPLOAD button. how can i upload a zip file or a picture.

2. By clicking IMAGE button on the RTEditor everyone can see the UPLOADS folder. files inside it. I think this is not what we want. Everyone has to see their own uploads. How can i fix this.

Thanks.

In the present version you need to make sure that you have set permissions for users to upload files or images in each forum using the permission system.

Once this is done an upload button will be displayed in the RTE image window.

We are planning next week to completely re-write the upload tools for the next version to address issues like everyone seeing uploaded files and images.

What we plan to do is to have a system whereby you enabled uploads for particular groups and give them an allotted amount of space for each user. Each user will only be able to see their uploaded files and images which they can upload in posts.

To manage the users uploaded files and images there will be a File Manager under the Members Control Panel for each member. This file manager will allow the member to manage their own uploaded files and images.

This isn't how any other forum systems manage uploaded files and images, but thought this is a new more practical approach and could be built on to include a gallery in future whereby each member can select which images (or even files) they would like available for public viewing through there profile or a gallery section.

thanks ...
in which version we can see these features ?

maybe upload tool can be like vbulletin :) u said user groups so we dont need to waste much time to give permissions. For example Giving upload permission to all members - and everyone can see their own uploads from member panel.

i am using 8.05a  so waiting for your new versions.

This should be available in version 9. Work will begin on the new upload tool today.

Once uploads are enabled and permissions granted when you click on the 'Inset Image' button there will be an additional feature in the insert image window that allows you to upload images.

"line 414", "char 1", "error object expected", "code 0", "URL http://www.stbartstalk.com/forum/new_reply_form.asp - http://www.stbartstalk.com/forum/new_reply_form.asp ? PID 12786&PN=1&TR=6"

Thanks
Chris

It looks like the integration you have done with your site is coursing the javascript for the forum not to work.

If you look at the source code for the page it now has 2 head sections. You would need to correct the files you have edited to integrate the forum into your site.
