Hi friends

I'm trying you build my new forum using WEB WIZ FORUM, but I didn't make it...

Is that becaus of the UNIX operating system fot the server.

If it is so, how can I overcome this problem.

Please help me.

correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't ASP require IIS, which in-turn requires a windows server?

if the server has ChiliASP installed you should still be able to run ASP pages... check with your hosting company as to whether you can run ASP or not.

ASP does require IIS, which also requires a Windows server.

but you can use ChiliASP but it is not the full ASP, and ive seen borg say, the forum doesnt run on chiliasp.

just looking at the "Forum Requirements" page, it says this:

To run Web Wiz Forums your web server needs to be running the following Operating System and Software.

Windows Server 2003 with IIS 6
Windows 2000 with IIS 5, http://www.microsoft.com/data/ - Microsoft MDAC 2.6+
Windows XP Pro with IIS 5.1

All servers require that you are running Microsoft's Internet Information Services (IIS) with ASP enabled. This application will NOT run on Unix/Linux web servers.

it states it will not run on linux

so to answer your question:

to use WebWizForum you would need to get a windows server.. or atleast a hosting account that is on a windows server.

if your stuck with unix/linux hosting i would suggest looking at php based forums, for example phpBB

RUN AWAY!!!!

phpBB is the most spammed forum available. There are far too many people using it and it attracts way too many spammers. Stay away from that at all costs!

If you need a forum on a LAMP system, go for vBulletin. It's really good. (But I'm still waiting for Bruce to get WWF done in .NET...)
