Certainly nothing wrong with the code.
We run 100's of forums using the mySQL version on our servers some with over 1,000 posts a day and 100's of active users at all times and never see this error.
We have not had any other users report this error, which looking up the error on mySQL site suggests that this is server related.

Have been looking into this, also for our own hosting as we do have 100's of users on mySQL.
It would appear that this error happens if the connection to the mySQL server is lost, either due to network issues or server issues.
When the connection to the mySQL server returns often the myODBC 3.51 driver will show this error, it seems to continue until the application pool on the web server is recycled.
The problem is not related to Web Wiz Forums, and can be avoided by having a good connection between the web server and the database server.
