I cannot update the forums' DB niether on my local or on the hosting server. The code does allow me to find the DB but upon any attempt to either register or login complains about inability to modify the DB file. I wondered if there is any way to debug the code in ASP files to check out what part of connection code fails.

P.S. Any other suggestions to fix this annoying problem are welcome.

The code will give an error message, if you post the error message it should tell us what the problem is.

However, it sounds like a permissions problem on the Access database. Make sure that the IUSR account on the server has Read, Write, and Modify, permissions on the folder containing the Access database.
