I am hoping that someone has some excellent news telling me that it is possible to upgrade from 6.X to 8.x

The forum was implemented by our former web agency and has not evolved since. However we would like to upgrade it without losing valuable data (ie posts to date)

Any suggestions are welcome.

Yes, it is possible:

1- Backup your current forum, and your current database

2- Upgrade from 6.x to 7.x: http://downloads.webwiz.net/webwizforums/ww7migrator.zip - Use this upgrade tool

3- Upgrade from 7.x to 8.x: use the tools listed at the bottom-middle of http://www.webwiz.net/web_wiz_forums/forum_download.asp?mode=asp - this page .

P.S. In step 2, the tool is for Access db-type, if you have a different db-type then you may want to reply to this topic and inquire about it.
