I haven't messed around with the calendar feature too much, but is it set up so that each forum member can edit/update their own personal calendar? Or is it one universal calendar which everyone else contributes to?

Members do not have their own personal events calendar at the present time, but it's an interesting idea, maybe looked at for future versions.
