The upload path needs to be left as default which is the 'upload' folder found inside your forum folder.

It got chnaged simply because so many people had various issues with the upload folder being in different locations on different servers with different setups.

The easiest option to prevent all the issues was have it so that the upload folder remained in it's default location.

It also makes working with uploaded files and linking to them in posts much easier.

A final question. Where do i change the path ? In the DB itself, or is it in some .asp file ?

You would need to do it in the database to the tblConfiguration table.

Nice.. the second problem is now solved. Thank you ! Thumbs%20Up

But the first problem still exist. If I select upload image in my control panel I still receives the error as described. But selecting files works just fine.

It looks like there maybe a problem with the javascript error handling for the file.

In tblConfiguration I have three upload paths set from previous versions:

Upload_img_path = /images/uploads
Upload_files_path = /files/uploads
Upload_avatar_path = /images/avatars

They've all been stored outside the forum folders through v8. What is the default path (/forum/uploads)? Do I need to change all three to fix the upload problem? I'll leave all the existing files where they are so that I don't break older messages.

Most of those fields haven't been in use since version 7, only need:-

Upload_files_path

With should be set to:-

uploads

Let me just clarify things, before the topic is locked, so that others don't keep reporting this issue, again, and again, and again.

There is a bug in version 9.0 that means the file manager will not allow you to upload images, it will allow you to upload files only.

If you attempt to upload an image it will give a javascript error.

This has been fixed for the next release.
