Subject: Update Problem

Not sure if i am doing this right but i get the following error when trying to update.

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a005e'

Invalid use of Null: 'CLng'

/web/forum_test/default.asp, line 501

I uploaded the final release of WWF 9 and then uploaded my old database to the database folder renaming it wwForum.mdb

I then ran the update tool for the access version and it all went through ok and then it produced the above error when i went back to the default page. Any ideas? am i doing this right? any help would be great. thanks.

Login to the admin area and Re-sync all posts.

ah i read another topic and i noticed i was running on a beta version. i downloaded the latest release and all works fine. Thanks.

I got the new version today.

I installed it and did the DB upgrade. I was planning on using v8 on the database (since it said I could) but it changed the look of the forum!!

And it started showing ads again (in v8!!)

Is there something I have to do to get the old look back? Thanks.

Were did you read this?

You can and you can't. You can upgrade your database to version 9, but you can not run version 8 and version 9 against the same database.

If you upgrade your forum to version 9 database and intend to keep running version 8 you will need to reset all the settings in version 8 after the database upgrade.

In the upgrade tools, the "read me first" document says:

Please Note:-
-------------
Do NOT attempt to run Web Wiz Forums version 7 with a version 9 database or it WILL corrupt it

Web Wiz Forums version 8 can use a version 9 database
