Subject: Admin Username Not Working

Hi, i have setup the forum software on my web and tried to login to setup the forum for the first time. the login page and admin.asp are just resetting when i use the default admin details....
 
 
Any ideas????

Could be a corruted file so first try reuploading the original files again.

If you still have problems then often these types of login issues are because of issues on the server and the server is unable to hold an ASP session, so you should contact your web host and have them fix the server for you.

If you can't get the server fixed, or until your host do fix the server, you can edit the includes/setup_options_inc.asp file and change it so that the forums session is stored in the database, although for performance reasons this is not advisable.

right, sounds good but its not actually on a web server just yet, its on my local machine with iis 6, i have set permissions for the database folder, everything else works.
 
I will extract the orginal download and see if that works, thanks borg for you help once again. :D

If you still have issues then it means that you have not setup IIS 6 correctly on your machine. Make sure that you have not setup the app pool to be a farm and only runs in one worker thread, otherwise it won't be able to hold ASP Sessions.
