I have found the Member API very useful, but there's an issue related to it that I am hoping can be addressed/included in a future update or if it has already been addressed, can be pointed out to me...
With the Member API enabled, any links/forms related to forum login/logout, quick login, password retrieval, registration or changing of user information such as name & email address should be automatically disabled, leaving only the basic "forum preferences" available.
I've had people logging in using my main website login then they change their email address and/or password in the forum member settings, thinking that it will be reflected throughout the entire website. When it doesn't work outside the forums, that's when we start receiving support emails!
The same happens if they have forgotten their password and use the "Forgotten your password?" link to reset their forum password.
I'm sure if I put my mind to it I could heavily modify the script to make these issues go away, but with v9 just released and certain updates/patches being released in the immediate future, I can't really afford to make the required changes then have to repeat them each time a new version is released.
Thanks

Some people like having these options in the forum when using the API, but will look at adding an extra option to the API to disable these items.
The Member API wasn't much used in version 8, but seems to have suddenly become very popular with version 9, so are looking at improving it for the next release, and adding improved online documentation for it.
