Is there any "easy" way to lock the search function down to just members in 9.03?

there is no setting for this in the current version. you could add some coding to the search_process.asp file

if lngLoggedInUserID = 2 then

call CloseDatabase()
response.redirect "insufficient_permission.asp"

end if

that might not be exact code but gives the ideas needed for your aim
