    The error suggests something is incorrect in your database_connection.asp file.

    Make sure that you have entered the details correctly of your SQL Server and there are not any mistaken characters such as quote marks within them.

    I appreciate if you can let me know what exactly I need to fill in database_connection.asp if this is the current connection string.

    Provider=sqloledb;Data Source=abcd.1234.com,1433;Initial Catalog=abcdefghijk;User Id=ABCDEFGHIJKL;Password=*****;

    This is what is currently in database_connection.asp

    strSQLServerName = "abcd.1234.com" 'Holds the name of the SQL Server (This is the name/location or IP address of the SQL Server)
     strSQLDBUserName = "ABCDEFGHIJKL" 'Holds the user name (for SQL Server Authentication)
     strSQLDBPassword = "********" 'Holds the password (for SQL Server Authentication)
     strSQLDBName = "abcdefghijk"

    You don't need to edit the connect string itself, just enter your database details in the place indicated.

    strSQLServerName = "abcd.1234.com" 'Holds the name of the SQL Server (This is the name/location or IP address of the SQL Server)
     strSQLDBUserName = "ABCDEFGHIJKL" 'Holds the user name (for SQL Server Authentication)
     strSQLDBPassword = "********" 'Holds the password (for SQL Server Authentication)
     strSQLDBName = "abcdefghijk"

    No other part of the file needs to be edited.
