Hello,

Where can i find the code for forum icons on the main page such as these:

?

They don't look neat, I prefer to use version 8's instead. I realize these are png's and those are gif's, but my forum skin matches with those gifs. I also want the page to load faster for IE 6 users who's browser doesn't support PNG type images yet.
I looked in default.asp but couldn't find it... thanks.

Give includes/forum_status_icons_inc.asp a try.

Those images are already shown as gifs for IE 5 and 6 users, you just need to replace the gif and png images in the forum_images folder.

In the event a forum has new posts in it, two icons are used, a star and a forum icon.
What happens if the image type is set to GIF, how would it be handled? How does the system know which image to use and distingusih between a forum with no new posts and a forum with new posts?

It's quite complex, but basically depending on if a forum or topic has a new post, is hot, is locked, etc. different images are layed over the top of the underlying png or gof using CSS.

It took several weeks to build the system so isn't something that can be explained easily how it works.

Ok i'm not going to mess with it then...

but in my view... version 9's main page doesn't look good with those icons... they're so classic... and not very neat. Verion 8's icons were much better and looked very neat... are there any plans for replacing them?
