I use IE7 and have moved to 9.04 in SQL Server 2005 on W2K3 Server.

When I click on an email notification to visit a posting (forum_posts.asp) I am frequently seeing the last posting in the thread formatted incorrectly but it corrects itself on refresh.

The top line (reads: Posted: Today at 12:23pm) of the last posting (only) is some 10 times longer than it should be. On refresh it reduces to a single line. This did not occur in 9.03 and I believe some modifications were carried out for this version.

The only that was added was a new forum_posts.asp?TID=24354&PID=127308#127308">New%20Post:%20Direct%20Link%20To%20This%20Post image for unread posts.

Have you also updated your forum images folder as there are some new images. It could be that you are having this issue because it's not finding the image to display.

For installations I always use all new files then just overwrite with my own (database setup, CSS, header, footer, uploads). I don't think CSS changed this version and it sorts itself out on refresh! All images appear fine.

I note there were maybe 3 changes listed for that asp file. I think I remembered the following notes but on reflection its probably not relevant:

RTE_textarea.asp - improved for display in IE 7
I will monitor this and report back to you when I get more info.

The RTE_textarea.asp page is an iframe and wouldn't have anything to do with the forum_posts.asp page

Here is an example. On this occasion I typed a reply, hit post reply and this is what displayed. I hit refresh and it sorted itself out (the wide pink top row went back to a single thin row.

Looks to be some strange browser rendering bug. I've not heard of anyone else having this issue, and have not been able to replicate it.

There is also nothing that has changed that I can see would course this to happen.

To prevent any confusion, I cannot be 100% sure that it started after the 9.04 upgrade - but that's when I noticed it.

It's interesting how it lines up with the minimum possible height of the box on the left (my avatar etc). I remember in a previous post I mentioned that postings had grown and that the left box was higher than it needed to be. In this case, it's at least attempting to line something up. But as you say...redering bug probably because refresh clears it...I'll monitor more and see if there is a way to recreate or force it to happen.
