Hi,

I'm struggling to transfer over a huge database (more than 80,000 members) which is around about version 4 or 5 of WebWiz to version 9.

I tried using the import tool to insert the usernames and passwords into the new database, but when I try logging into the new forums the passwords don't work.

Looking around the source, register.asp has a section to encrypt the password - and there's a variable - blnEncryptedPasswords - if this were set to false, would this turn off encrypting passwords? If yes, then I am thinking I can try manually importing the usernames and passwords into tblAuthor.

But I can't find references to blnEncryptedPasswords in other files (nor see where it is set to true or false anyway), and I'm not sure this will help because looking at the code when a user logs in, I don't see reference to this variable.

Can anyone help / point me in the right direction?

Thanks
Dan

you can turn off encyption by editing the set_up.asp file within the includes folder of the forum folder
