I sent and read the HTML in Yahoo Mail successfully but the Emails Read: field still = 0

Is this feature working? How do I enable it?

It does work but it depends on the email client you use and your security settings.

Because spammers sendout millions of random emails and then wait and see which ones indicate that they are read to findout if an email address is real often email clients block this type of technique. It sounds like Yahoo Mail does the same.

The statistic for read emails will not be 100% accurate due to this, but should give you an indication of the number of read emails.

What method do you use to track read email through email clients? Through a _blank.gif image file or?

Yes it uses a link to an image file on the server to count how many emails are read.

But if I can see the inline images within my HTML email, shouldn't the Email Reads feature work?

Yes it should, if it's not then check that you have the correct path to NewsPad set in the software.

Found the reason, I have to ENABLE WEBFRONTEND to have it to work properly. It works now.

I think this is a bug, if you send out HTML emails and want to track Emails Read, you don't necessarily need to have WEBFRONTEND enabled. But I'm glad it works now :)

Thanks for the feedback, will look into this issue as it should still work even with the web frontend disabled.

If you take out line 88 of the file read_stats_update.asp which has:-

Call WebFrontEnd()

Then the stats update will work with the web frontend disabled.
