Hello,

It has been a long while since I visited the Web Wiz Forums.
My own forum still runs at 7.x on an Access db, lots of mods etc.
There is no immidiate need to switch over but I will start using a MySQL based website.

I think it is time to switch over to this new release and I have a few questions.
I did use the search but probably missed it.
What is the difference between the Free version and the Premium Edition?
As it says on the Features page: *Please note some of the features listed above are only available in Web Wiz Forums Premium Edition.

Is it easy to move my Access data to an MySQL-database?

BTW. Borg, this new version looks great! Clap

Thanks in advance.

The difference between the Free Express Edition and Premium Edition, is that the Free Express Edition has adverts, and doesn't have the File Upload System, Private Messaging, and Calendar System.

There are tools around that will migrate an Access database to mySQL, but it is simpler to go from Access to SQL Server.

Well, I'm bussy setting up a testversion using the free Express download.

I have the new forum up and running but need some help migrating the old database without disrupting my still-in-use old forum.

Because my database is in a secure map I cannoct connect it via http://www.*****.**/admin/databases/wwForum.mdb - http://www.*****.**/admin/databases/wwForum.mdb
I'm getting an error:

Database Updated Started

Stage 1: Database Connection.....
Error Connecting to Accesss database

Check the following is set up and correct:-

Check the path to the Access database and the database name are correct

Error Details:
Not a valid file name.

I'm also not able to fysicly get to that server.

So, how do I proceed now?

you cant use the path like that, you need to use a path like c:/inetpub/wwroot/ etc etc

upload this code
<%
response.write(Server.MapPath("/") & "<br />")
%>
Navigation to the page at it will show you the path to the directory, you can then use this to create the correct path
