Subject: Securing MS Access 2003 database objects

I have designed a database in MS Access 2003 with Forms, Tables, Queries and Reports. I want to secure its all mentioned objects in a way that no user can edit / view the design on any object. I have tried by making .mde file but it do nogthing. Can anyone please help me for this. thank you in advance.

hi..yes you can secure it using password. goto tool options>add password. This feature is available in office 2000 and higher version. But sometime it may happen you didnt apply a password and mdb file ask for password in this secnario leads that your database is corrupt. But still you can get your original database using http://www.repair-access-file.com - access repair utility.

Access database passwords can be cracked in seconds, there are 100's of utilisties on the web for this type of thing.

If you want to have a secure database then you need to look at using SQL Server or mySQL.

Access is just a desktop database and not very good in the web environment, and with Microsoft phasing out JET driver support for Access it's days in the web environment are numbered.
