When a pound symbol £ is posted the actual post has a  character in front of it?
When the post containing it is edited its not there.
Any ideas?

This will be down to the character encoding set for your forum. By default Web Wiz Forums version 9 uses UTF-8 which does support the Pound (£) character.

You may want to try editing the includes/setup_options_inc.asp file and changing the page encoding type. However, this would mean new posts would be saved in the new encoding while older posts used the old encoding.

Hi Bruce,
Thanks for that but:
It was on the default UTF-8
I've tried iso-8859-1, and also tried modifying one to windows-1252 which is not in the list but they all still do this.
The extra character only appears in the post. In the editor it looks OK and the extra character doesn't show in the editor when you edit a post where it's present.
