I'm guessing that this has been covered already but I can't find it so I'll ask. What are the step by step instructions for getting the Dundas ASP Upload tool to work with Newspad.
I put all the files under the newspad folder, I added the .dll as a web extension in IIS 6, I started the State Server and still, the Server Compatibility test says that it's not installed.

Thanks all.

I'm not sure how you install Dundas, you should look for some spefic intructions to install it, but I can say for certain you do not place the files in the NewsPad directory and you do not place the dll as a web extension.

With components you usually place the .dll under the windows/system32 directory then at the command prompt you register the component on the server using:-

regsvr32 NameOfDLL.dll

Replace
NameOfDLL.dll with the name of the dll you are registering.

However, if Dundas comes with an .exe file you should use that to install the component.

That all makes sense but if I shouldn't put the upload files inthe NEwspad directoy then where? Do they go inthe site root or the server root? I have many sites on this server. If I use newspad for all of them can they all use the same instance of the upload tool? Is it just the DLL that needs to be registered and the rest of the stuff is only for testing? I know that you are not a Dundas expert but Newspad does list it as a supported upload option and Dundas offers minimal documentation and zero support for their free products.

Thanks for any help you can provide. If we can get this to pass the Server Compatibility Test we will be rolling out the Premium edition to all of our clients who want a newsletter tool.

Thanks again,

Bryan

OK, that was it. I registered the DLL in the system32 directory and everything is working fine. Thanks for your help.
