Im running v8.05 of the forum and wondered why when anyone types :)

they get :) instead of Smile...
 
seems to be the same here. is that how its supposed to be ??

It is how it is supposed to be., you would need to turn this into BBcode by placing [ and ] around it.

If you click the link to BBcodes at the bottom of the post editor you will get a page that displays all the available BBcodes.

ok ...

so If I change the emotions_inc.asp from ...
 
saryEmoticons(1,2) = " [ :) ] "
to
 
saryEmoticons(1,2) = ":)"
 
will that allow users just to type :) to get the smilie  Smile ??
