I’ve installed Web Wiz forums and I am utilising Windows Authentication, which is all working successfully.

I do have one issue. Once a domain user is auto registered, if I promote them to the “Admin Group” (so they get the Admin icon in the header), and they click the link, they get prompted for the username/password/CAPTCHA, although the username is already (correctly) populated and cannot be changed.

As I’ve enabled Windows Authentication, there is no password for them and, therefore, they cannot get into the admin area.

Interestingly, if they are not in the “Admin Group” and they type admin.asp into the address bar, they get the option to type the username. This gives a work round, of manually creating additional “Admin” accounts if required.

My question is: Is it meant to be this way, or is it a “feature”?

Would it be possible to “auto-login” members of the “Admin Group” when Windows Authentication is enabled, either by default, or perhaps setting a value within function_windows_authentication.asp file?

It is not recommended that you have more than one admin, if you need to give other users permissions you should make them moderators.

When Windows Authentication is enabled only the master admin account can access the admin area.

Ah, right - that's okay then. Thanks for the prompt response.
