Hi

Is there a way to display events logged in the calendar on the home page?

Kind of like if you turn on newspad from within the forum and you see a small list of newsletters appear at the bottom of the homepage...

Smile

I've been able to use this RSS2HTML resource to display WWF's calendar events on the home page of the site I'm working on:

http://www.bytescout.com/how_to_display_rss_using_asp.html - http://www.bytescout.com/how_to_display_rss_using_asp.html

Try it and let me know if that works.

IT doesn't work with wwf in alot of host, including mine (I bought from Brinkster), but it does work in localhost. Any reason?
I point the rss file to RSS_topic_feed.asp
If I change the rss link to yahoo news, it works. Strange.

If it works on your localhost and not your server then it is the server that is having issues with it, What errors are you getting ?

Maybe worth giving them a poke and asking why it isn't working also.

When it comes to grabbing XML content, including RSS Feeds using HTTP, from a web site, you need to have a TCP/IP Port 80 connection to the server.

It more likly works in localhost as a direct connection can be made, however, if you try and connect to another site if there is a firewall blocking the Port 80 TCP connection it will not work.

Check with server admin that the web server you are connecting from allows outbound TCP Port 80 connections, and the server you are connecting to has inbound Port 80 connections (I would imagine that the inbound Port 80 TCP connection would work, otherwise your web site would not display).

You should also check that outbound connections are not routed through a proxy as these often also break the remote connection.

Thank you
I think not many host allows Port 80 due to security reason. When I try to point the RSS_feed_topic to Forums.webwiz.net it doesn't work as well, as i think that WWhost also doesn't allow it.
I will find an alternative solution.
Thanks For your time
