Hi All

our forums are for explorer scouts (14-18) a majority of them keep forgetting the user name and password. However as part of keeping interest up and communications i use the forums to blanket email everyone on events... is there a way of including there username and password on the email through the forums email functionin control panel?

Passwords are 160bit one way encrypted, so can not be recovered, if they could there would be no point in encrypted them as a hacker could easily un-encrypt them to get everyone's passwords.

Instead the forgotten password feature creates and emails the user a new password.

Thanks for the suggestion... but they also keep forgetting the username /email adress or both! just thought would be handy to have one or both on bottom of all comunications sent out....

Plus a reminder that we are still here and perhaps we havent seen you for a while have you logged on prompting them with there details... is this a feature that could be incorperated in to futur versions?

The forgotten password feature in version 9 allows the user to use either their username or their email address.

So hopefully even if they have forgotten their username and password they will at least remember their email address. The forgotten password tool will then email them their username and new password.
