Does the app detect emails coming back or just errors while sending out?

What email component is required to detect bounces? There is almost no documentation to clearly this,

It would be interesting to find out how this is done so I agree with MadDog for clarifications.

Viewing another post the guy had an error saying "550 - User not found" this would generally be bounced back to the senders e-mail address but some how the script managed to get it and displayed the error.

Lets see how it is done !!

Why no answer for a paid user?

Some components are able to detect if the email address doesn't exist and will return a 550 - User not found error.

Can you tell me what email components do that?

Sorry I do not recall you would have to check the documentation with the email component vendors, but I do recall seeing this from CDOSYS a few times.

The best one is JMail Pro which can read emails from a POP3 account. Looking at adding support for JMail Pro POP in future releases as you would beable to read back in bounced emails from the POP 3 account and parse them to see which ones are bounces and possibly get from them the reason why.

Ah i see. I thought the current version had this when i read the description... guess i was wrong Cry

Well i cant wait tell it does! Certainly would help me remove 1000+ emails that are bunched back each time i send a news letter.

p.s. Would be cool to have this in the forum also!
