Hi

We have an existing user database of userids, passwords and email addresses.

We would like to integrate the forum into our site, so that our current users can navigate straight to the forum, autoregister if their forum ids dont exist yet, and then log in.

And also for existing forum users to be able to log straight in.  I'm guessing its these sessions variables?

 Session("USER") , Session("PASSWORD") ,  Session("EMAIL")   can these be set to our contact's details?

Can this be done?  How do you do this?

Cheers

Mike

Yes that is correct.

You need to activate the member API by editing in notepad the file functions/functions_member_API.asp, it gives instructions in this file how to set it up.

Where do I find the documentation to do this?

I also have a web site where my users already have to log in to use the site.  I'd like to pass their log in info through to Web Wiz so that they do not have to log in again to access the forums.  Where do I find the docs to accomplish this?

In the file functions/functions_member_API.asp.

Edit the file in notepad to enable this feature. It also contains the documentation on how to set it up and use it.

We'd like to do the opposite - can that be done?
In other words, we have a site which is basically for now, just the forums with an intro or home page. We'd like to (this will involve hiring a programmer, I suspect) build registries so that folks can register their AMCs into a database, but have it so that ONLY valid forum members can access it - protect the registry from view or even change using the existing user id and password already kept in the forum.
Say I visit http://theamcforum.com and wish to go to the page that shows the registered SS/AMX's, we want it to challenge us so I have to use my forum id and password instead of keeping separate track.
