I just set up a new forum, web_wiz_forums_SQL_server_v9.07 with SQL server 2000.
When trying to import the real names of users from a different db i noticed that webwiz stores string as utf-8 in sql server. Is that the intended behaviour or do I have some setting wrong? As I understand storing utf-8 data in sql server isn't a good thing (order by etc.)

By default Web Wiz Forums page encoding is set to UTF-8 to support non-western languages.

You can change the page encoding by editing the file includes/setup_options_inc.asp in notepad.

For improved performance you should also look at upgrade your SQL Server to 2005 or 2008. This will have an even larger impact on performance when version 10 is released in the next couple of months.
