How can I enable different color for group members ?

On the main site (active users) , I'd like to have different colore for users who belong to the different member group. Like red for admin , blue for power users etc...

What is it exactly you want, do you want it based on Group? or based on permissions (ie if user is a mod)?

It would be very easy to do based on Group, but would be hard to do based on permissions as it would require alot more database hits meaning reduced performance.

Based on group for me - I just want to show admin and mod, and if admin, they are a member of the admin group. All of our mods are members of the moderator group.
No exceptions, really.

Hi, sorry, I didnt notice the reply.

Is it on the Forum Index or the Active Users page? or both?

Let me know and I'll throw a mod together.

default.asp, the bottom where it shows the active members, or online members
That way members can see right off, oh, billd is a moderator. Our main mods are members of the mod group. We DO have a couple of other mods who are not, they only take care of two sections, but that's fine. We've put their names in that forum.
It's groups, who is a member of the mod group, and on the main, or default page.

At least that's what we'd want. You can see similar in Yabb boards, like amccars.net, another forum similar to ours.

if this can also show up in the who's visited today, that would be great!

I know there was the following mod in the main topic
*Who's Who - colorize admins and mods*
But all the links are dead in the post.

Yes, what I'd like to happen, is if that person is a moderator, or rather, member of the mod group, then their name always show up as red, for example, or blue, perhaps red if that person is the administrator.

Not as important if the person has mod rights to a specific area, more if they are a member of the mod group. The "mod squad", as it were.

I sort of forgot all about doing this mod as I've been busy lately - but I should be able to do it this weekend. (maybe someone could send me a PM on friday? Embarrassed)

This shouldn't be a problem at all (keeping in mind it'll be based of groups only and not on actual permissions)
