I'm upgrading from 7.x to 9.08 and things are working well. I found a few issues with the upgrader and I will send along my fixes after finishing everything up.

The main problem I'm having is that when I try to reply to a post I get this error every time:

Quote
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e31'

Timeout expired

/forum908/new_post.asp, line 787

That's where it opens this query.........

strSQL = "SELECT" & strDBTop1 & " " & strDbTable & "Thread.* " & _
"FROM " & strDbTable & "Thread" & strRowLock & " " & _
"ORDER BY " & strDbTable & "Thread.Thread_ID DESC" & strDBLimit1 & ";"

.....with......

'Open the threads table
.Open strSQL, adoCon     <----- Line 787

Everything else seems to run really well and it seems a lot faster than 7.x. I ran this query directly on the SQL server and didn't have any problem processing it directly. Does this ring any bells for anyone?

RE my post above, it appears that when I copied my test DB over I didn't enable the identity insert and indexes weren't moved, etc. Duh. So never mind...... Embarrassed

On the 7.x upgrade file, stage 6 doesn't update the main forum database with the last topic ID for display on the front page.
I have fixed this in this file: http://senduit.com/dc3de9 - http://senduit.com/dc3de9  (file will be there till Feb 16)

Mods made on lines 1048, 1099, and 1138.

Cheers!

The last topic ID is undated when users make a post in that forum, or you can use the resync tool within the admin area.
