Hi,

I'm considering signing for web site hosting of 2 separate web sites (for now), that is community forum and my wife's arts display front end. So the service will be the Business Web Site Hosting configuration. I have three questions:

  1. I'd like to register one of the domains with you, but I need to register the domain anonymously so my personal data is not visible in whois. Can you do that for me?
  2. In WebWiz, is there any way to impose message posting limit to certain amount of messages per day, let's say 5 per day? On either group or user level?
  3. I would like to run some custom ASP.NET C# code on my website. Is there any "sandbox" available where clients can test the code before deploying, as to avoid compromising the production server?
Thank you for your help.
Joe

1. This shouldn't be a problem as we can register the domain name under our office address if you like.

2. There isn't a message posting limit in this way in Web Wiz Forums. However, you could set the anti-spam flood control settings to only allow 5 posts within 24 hours. This would then limit all but the admin group to only 5 posts per day.

3. There is not a 'sandbox' server at present. However, we are going to be increasing our data centre capacity by 400% before the end of this month and are looking at putting on a range of new servers before the end of March and will be looking at adding a 'sandbox' server. The exact timing of this depends on how long it takes Microsoft to send out the volume licensing media which is presently on order, but from past experience it has taken 8 weeks to arrive!

All the servers do currently support ASP.NET 1.1, 2.0, and 3.5, although till our 'sandbox' server comes online it is recommended that you develop the software locally before uploading it to our productions servers, but we can look at placing your site(s) in an isolated pool for test development so they do not effect other sites running on the same server.

Bruce,

in the anti-spam flood control settings, I see that the maximum limit is 5 posts per 1 hour. I do not see 24 hours option in the drop-down list. Am I missing something?

Thank you.

This would need to be set in the database as this would be a workaround. If you create a support ticket on this we will be able to set this up for you.
