I have downloaded the latest free version of Web Wiz to my computer, extracted it, and then uploaded it to a server.
Nothing works. Somehow, I think I have it all bass ackwards...
Should I have it actually operating on my desktop before uploading it to a server?
I am about half ADD, and the other half of my attention span is over caffienated. The documentation (which I've read twice) is just not giving me what I need to install and set up this software.
Can someone please provide me with a 1, 2, 3 check list of installation and set up steps?
I really like what I see in the package, and my goal is to learn enough about the software to be able to "sell it" to a volunteer organization that needs an inhouse communications tool.
But I've got to be able to do the grunt work on the set up before I can present it to them.

PS: if I am at the wrong section of this forum with this qeustion please either move me or point me in the right direction.
PSS: After I have my head around the free version I'll be glad to buy a license for the basic version, but again, I need to know what I am doing for the install and administration before I hit them up for the budget funds.

If you are not familiar with ASP and how it works you should first have a read of:- http://www.webwiz.net/kb/asp_tutorials/what_is_asp.asp - What is Active Server Pages (ASP)? You should also check the http://www.webwiz.net/webwizforums/kb/requirments.asp - System Requirements to see if the web hosting you have meets the requirements to run the software. Bruce, thanks.
I turned on the IIS on my desktop (Vista Home Premium). And I downloaded the MDAC 2.6+ files from Microsoft. Do I understand that I can install and run these on my desktop?
Work calls now, so I'll have to get back to this when I get in tonight.
Rick (it seems I'll be "in school" all my life) in AL.

The MDAC drivers are already installed on Vista (is it the 64 bit version?) Hmm ... I cannot point to a label, but I am almost certain my home desktop would be the 32 bit version. Basic consumer line computer bought at Circuit City.

It would be more likely the 32bit version, the 64bit version doesn't support Access without having to do some tweaking to get the application pool to work in 32bot mode. Once you have enabled ASP in IIS 7 it should work fine. So am I inabling ASP on my desktop? I have dug around through the various Admin services and can't find anything that specifically says "enable ASP."
I"m missing something obvious, and can't figure out how to put the question.

Don't have an IIS 7 machine at hand at this moment, but if you have a look in the IIS manger found in Administrator Tools of Vista Control Panel you should find it. You generally click on the site in question in the IIS manager and somewhere about halfway down there should be an option for ASP.
