I've been struggling with this one for a while now, so hopefully somebody knows what I've done...
A few months ago I installed the 9.0.x version of Web Wiz Forums. Since that time, the only people who can send private messages are the forum administrators. Everybody else gets the error message indicating that they've reached their limit.
I've tried modifying the behavior of private messages on the Private Messaging and Calendar Settings page. I am able to change the Private Messenger on / off buttons and Number of Private Messages per User, but when I attempt to change Private Messenger Flood Control it always resets back to 1. I've also upgraded to 9.0.8, with no success.
I'm sure the issue is with flood control somewhere, but I don't know how to reset it or fix it. I am running a full, licensed version of Web Wiz Forums. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure that PM was removed from 9.0.7 and up for the free version of WWF. Not sure what the issue was, but it I think it has something to do with getting your host to install a different component, or upgrading to the paid version.
Of course, the simplest thing is to move hosting to here for a very low price (that's 50% for Feb. I think!). I just moved my web hosting (which includes the paid version of WWF installed) to here and I couldn't be happier. Everything will work when you move.

Oiy....
I am running a paid-for version of WWF, so it's not the trial version. I upgraded via the "free upgrades for life" program, if that matters. I also currently have hosting on another location, and that hosting is paid up through the next two years (it just renewed this month).
I would think there would be something wrong, possibly something that was missed in tblConfiguration on the SQL database that needs to be set.

Jeffroy9 I guessing that you installed the SQL Server version at the end of last summer.
There was an error in the SQL Server setup file during a few weeks at the end of the summer which accident set the PM_Flood field in the tblConfiguration table in the database to a 'bit' data type instead of an 'int'.
If you can not or do not want to update this in the database yourself then contact support and we can update this for you.

Can you let me know what you have hosted there, if a forum or web site? I'm waiting for an answer from our current host and would love to visit with folks from the states on their hosting here, visit their sites, etc. We are gaining members, posts and ground really fast and the best way to know what's good for us is to see what others are doing and their experiences. I'm SO impressed with the support and replies here - I mean Bruce's answer in this thread is like bending over backwards to help someone. Ya don't see THAT every often any more. I'm interested in U.S. based folks since that's where we are and how the long-distance support and time offsets, etc. work out. And your impressions. PM or email me if you care.............. Time is running out as I want to take advantage of Bruce's generosity before the end of Feb.

Bruce,
Thanks for your help. You were correct in your assumptions, and I was able to modify the schema successfully.
