Well....... I didn't have this issue with version 8.xx
I changed our background color to blue. In 8.06 it impacted only the forum background, and the quick reply and reply message text areas stayed "white".
With 9, I edited the CSS file to change the background and now the quick reply text area is blue, too! Not good...
Apparently, there's a slight difference in the CSS files between the versions, well, more than slight, but it didn't change any text in 8, ONLY the web page background.

Oops - can that be fixed?

I had the colour changed for the pages in 8.06 using the CSS file and it left the typing areas white.
It's only the 9.xx version that changes the colour of the typing area when I change the page colour to blue.
So it's a specific change with v9.xx
Still need to know how folks change the colour of their pages and NOT change the typing area colour.

I beleive most users change the typing area as well. This also fixes a problem in version 8 where if you had a dark colour background and white text it often didn't work for creating posts in the WYSIWYG Editor.

If you want to change this in version 9 you would need to edit the file RTE_textarea.asp

YES! That's it. I changed it to white now even with the blue background for the page.
Thanks!
I just added the
background:#ffffff;
in the style definition in that file, which will over-ride the style sheet definition of color for that file.

Great. I think it's looking great! And v9.0 does have a more "pleasing" look to it than 8. Not that 8 was bad, lots of folks loved it, but so far, the moderators like 9 better.
Our "tweaks" are looking great in it and I feel better now that they will be typing black text in a white (ffffff) box.
